NAYBC Junior Nationals

The 2012 NAYBC Junior Nationals will take place over the bank holiday weekend at the start of June (2nd/3rd/4th)and will again be held in Nottingham.

The club ran the Annual Penny a Pin fund raising event on Saturday 10th March, with bowlers having collected sponsors from friends and family.

The event was run as a handicap competition with prizes for the winning bowlers.

Special mention must go to Mia who achieved a personal best High Game of 174 and a scratch series of 396. Mia won the tournament with a handicap score of 648 for her three games.

Saturday Morning Trainning

We are delighted to welcome Richard Lambkin back to the club as Senior Instructor in 2012.

Richard has a wealth of bowling experience and has been coaching successful bowlers for many years.

We are very pleased to have reinstated the Saturday morning Training Sessions which take place immediately after the league has completed at approximately 11:30am (Depending when the league finishes). Training lasts for between 45 and 60 minutes.

Cliftonville YBC bowl on Saturday mornings from September to June of each year at Bugsy's in Cliftonville, and is open to junior bowlers from 7 to 18 years of age.

The Saturday YBC League starts at 9:45am with a pre-league warm-up session. The league bowling commences at 10:00am and comprises 3 games finishing between 11:30 and 12:00am.

The club is sanctioned by the British Tenpin Bowling Association (BTBA) and is afilliated to the National Association of Youth Bowling Clubs (NAYBC) and the Kent Ten Pin Bowling Association (KTBA).

Our young bowlers are coached by BTBA Qualified Instructors and the club is managed by BTBA accredited officers, elected annually at the Annual General Meeting and consist of President (Janet Rankin), Vice President (Sarah Rankin), Treasurer (Kevin Plewis) and Secretary (Alan Brown). We also have qualified coaches, Richard Lambkin, Kevin Plewis, Sarah Rankin, Janet Rankin, Andy Speed and Alan Brown together with parent helpers Helen Lythgoe, Tina Gibbins, Claire Roff, Julie Christian and Julie Bridges (also our qualified First Aider) who work with the club officials during the league and at competitions held throughout the country.

All of our officers, instructors and volunteers are accredited by the BTBA and are fully CRB checked.

The weekly bowling fees for the 2011/12 season will be £8.00 payable before play each week. The fee for a missed session is £2.00 each, which must be paid on the first week that a bowler returns to the club.

Players from the club participate in many National, International and Local Competitions and the club is represented at the highest level in both in Kent and nationally.
